Dr.Tutteli Pukarinen

Following a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia, Tutteli graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1994 with Great Distinction. She also has training in acupuncture. Tutteli has owned the practice since 1999 and is married with two young sons. She really enjoys working with cats, dogs, and little pocket pets, and on those rare occasions when she has some spare time, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking and kyaking with her dog, Lewis.

Dr. Victoria VanWyk

Victoria graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 1991, and received the Top Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Award. This was followed by an internship at Michigan State University in small animal medicine and surgery. She is a dog agility enthusiast and is passionate about her two collies and her kelpie. When not competing in Agility, Victoria and her husband enjoy hiking with their dogs.

Dr. Robin Rainford

Robin graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2006 and moved to Vancouver Island in 2007 when she joined the practice as one of our veterinarians.  She has a special interest in emergency and critical care medicine. She was married in October 2009, and baby made three in January of 2011. They have two dogs named Brindie and Bailey.  She enjoys running, mountain biking, skiing, swimming, camping and sometimes just lounging on the beach!

Dr. Kate Wood

Kate obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University in 2005 and graduated with Distinction from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She and her husband moved from Saskatoon to Campbell River in the fall of 2010 and enjoy fishing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, camping and just spending time outdoors.

Dr. Zita Doeshner

Zita has worked with us since 2010. After graduating from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover, Germany in 2001, she enjoyed working with the Yukon Veterinary Services in Whitehorse. During her time in the north she completed the accreditation requirements to the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association.  She has two young children, a HuskyX named Luna, and a cat named Ralphie.

Dr. Richelle Kendall

 Richelle completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an Animal Health Technology diploma before graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine with Distinction in 2008. Richelle worked for a few years at a private practice in Courtenay, BC before joining the Coastland team in January of 2010. Richelle is married and has a young son. Her family also includes a goofy American Bulldog named Lenny and two cats, Mattie and Phoenix. In her spare time, Richelle enjoys hiking, mountain biking, camping and exploring nature with her little boy.
