Meet our team of Caring Employees and Professionals

Our Receptionists:
The first people you’ll meet upon entering our hospital is our caring and helpful receptionists. They have a wealth of information about flea products, de-wormers, products for the skin and hair coat, pet insurance, dental products, as well as tips on puppy and kitten training and behavior. Their obvious love and interest in animals makes them the perfect people to put your pet at ease prior to seeing the Doctors.

devils ladder 062 Erin Williams is Our Office Manager and Receptiontist. She has worked with us since 2005. She has two dogs Reyah and Huey. She loves to spend time biking and hiking with her dogs. She likes to be active and also enjoys camping, surfing and snowboarding.

Carol Hartle is one of our Veterinary Receptionists and has worked with us for 4 years. She is married and has one daughter. She has a Shih Tzu named Ginger, two Guinea Pigs and a Horse. She loves gardening and watching her daughter ride and show horses.

Anna Hooper works with us as a Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist. She has been with us off and on for 4 years. She is loves gardening and loves to spend her time outdoors. She has many pets which include Reptiles, Rodents, Chickens, Ducks and Fish. She also has three dogs Josie, Lizzy and Walter. She has four cats Simon, Phoebe, Cougar and Charlie. She loves horses and riding.

Laura obtained her "Animal Care Aide Certificate" in May of 2009 through North Island College and has been with CVH since March of that year.  Laura is passionate about animal behaviour and is constantly seeking more information to better help people and animals alike.  Having a 5 year old daughter- Shelby, an adolescent Shepherd/Pitti mix - Henry, a young indoor cat - Opal, and numerous pocket pets, she has her hands full!  Outside of work, she keeps busy spending time with family and friends, and exploring the many trails and lakes our community has to offer with her dog at her side.

Krista Hack has worked with us since July of 2010. She loves all animals and has 2 kittens - Zoey and Zena adopted from The Quadra cat group. She also has a Ridgeback X Retriever - Kya, who she practices agility with (with the TAG agility group). Krista loves sports and she and her son are very involved in baseball, curling and hockey - she has volunteered with the Campbell River Storm for the last 11 years . She's always friendly and available to help you and your pet find an appointment to fit your schedule!

Linda Ramos is the newest addition to our reception team, she has worked with us since February of 2011. When she's not at work, Linda is home spending time with her husband and two young children. They all share their home with 2 dogs - Ruby and Doc Holiday and their calico cat Pika.  Linda loves animals and still enjoys learning new things everyday and getting to know all the people and pets that visit us every day. She's always friendly and available to help you find the answer to any questions you may have about your pet!

 

Our Technicians:

In the treatment and surgical area of the clinic we are able use our expertise and knowledge to its fullest capacity. We take radiographs, utilize our in house laboratory to perform blood and urine testing, and assist the veterinarians in dentistry and surgery. We ensure that all the pets in our care are comfortable and treated with compassion.

Anila Rondeau is our head Veterinary Technichan. She has worked with us for 12 years. She is married and is a mother of four. She has 3 Border Terriers Rosie, Jill and Archie. She also has a cat named Chester. She is very involved in dog sports including conformation, rally, obedience, earthdog, and her personal favourite: freestyle or dancing with her dogs.

dsc02030 Michelle Stoppard is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She has worked with us for the last 8 years.  She has a passion for horses and likes to spend her time with Chickie her Quarter horse and all of her other pets that include, Turk the Alpaca,Lira and Lola her two dogs and her two cats Herbie the Love Bug and Purrcy.  She also enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.

Sarah Percevault is one of our Veterinary Assistants and has worked with us since 2002. She has two lovely children, one cat "Hunter", and two dogs: "Inch", a chihuahua X who thinks she is a person,  and "Obi", a Boston Terrier, who is her running partner. Running is a big part of Sarah's life, and she has completed both Marathons and Triathlons, and enjoys many other outdoor sports. Sarah is very helpful and personable, and loves her job!

Nicole Emery has been a Resgistered Animal Health Technologist since 2001. Her husband and two young boys share their home with "Flash Gordon" and "Martha" who are rescue dogs & "Lady" the cat. Nicole is also a member of the Canadian Animal Assitance Team. CAAT is a non-profit organization that provides health care to animals in communities that do not have access to regular veterinary care. When Nicole is not at work she is spending time with her boys and husband doing outdoor activites.

Danielle Caldwell is a  Registered Animal Health Technologist who graduated from Olds College in 2002.  She joined our team in 2009. She is married and shares her home with 3 beautiful cats, Reva, Katie and Charlie.  In her spare time she enjoys cooking,  reading, running, biking and especially playing tennis.  Danielle also speaks fluent French.

rhianna Rhianna Holden joined the team at CVH in May 2011. SHe graduated as a Registered Animal Health Technologist from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2007. She has grown up with cats, fish and horses - and currently has a senior calico kitty named Sweets and a spunky Siamese cross named Paisley. In her spare time she enjoys painting, going for motorcycle rides, going to the beach and spending time with family. She has enjoyed getting to know all the CVH clients and their wonderful pets!

Coastland Veterinary Hospital is owned by Dr. Tutteli Pukarinen. Following a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Pukarinen graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1994 with Great Distinction. She also has training in acupuncture. Tutteli has owned the practice since 1999 and is married with two young sons. She really enjoys working with cats, dogs, and little pocket pets, and on those rare occasions when she has some spare time, she enjoys snowboarding and hiking with her dog, Lewis.

Tutteli has emphasized a real teamwork approach to the clinic, and the staff thoroughly enjoys themselves while providing professional and compassionate care to all the pets in their charge.

Dr. Victoria Van Wyk graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 1991, and received the Top Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Award. This was followed by an internship at Michigan State University in small animal medicine and surgery. She is a dog agility enthusiast and is passionate about her three collies. When not competing in Agility, Victoria and her husband enjoy hiking with their dogs.

Robin Cuming graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2006 and moved to Vancouver Island in 2007 when she joined the practice as one of our veterinarians.  She has a special interest in emergency and critical care medicine.   She was married in October 2009 and has two dogs named Brindie and Bailey.  She enjoys running, mountain biking, skiing, swimming, camping and sometimes just lounging on the beach!

Dr Kate Wood obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University in 2005 and graduated with distinction from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She and her husband moved from Saskatoon to Campbell River in the fall of 2010 and enjoy fishing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, camping and just spending time outdoors.

Dr. Zita Doeschner has worked with us since 2010. After graduating from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover, Germany in 2001, she enjoyed working with the Yukon Veterinary Services in Whitehorse. During her time in the north she completed the accreditation requirements to the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association. She has also worked in Comox at Shamrock Veterinary Hospital. She has two young children, a HuskyX- Luna, and a cat named Ralphie.
